CALLING ALL DANCE ALUMNI AND FACULTY!
Wanna move your bones and groove with your best buds for old times sake? Here’s the chance! Nikki Chan Pamela Khiu Ivan Smorgan Koh Lindsey Lum Yue Ru Ma & Iswarya Jayakumar have been invited back to SOTA to share their moves with six unique classes over three evenings. Open to all dance alumni and faculty to move and groove– alumni from the other artforms are invited as well but in the event of a full crowd, priority will be given to dancers!
We hope this yearly get-together and sharing sessions will create a space for all to reconnect and network across fields. We are open to all kinds of sharing sessions should you wish to propose in future!
Sign up by 2 October, 2359, for individual classes via the eventbrite. Please sign up for each individual class. (Signing up for the 1st class does not reserve a place in the 2nd). The event is free or pay-as-you-wish!

Lyrical - Nikki Chan

Nikki started dancing at an early age of 4. She continued to pursue dance and graduated from the School of the Arts in 2013. Specialising in contemporary and jazz, She then joined The Royal dance off Contemporary dance company in 2016 as a full time company Dancer and has her weekly classes at TRDO as well.
Hip Hop - Pamela Khiu

Pamela is currently a final year student in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She started dancing Hip Hop at an age of 11 and subsequently ventured into other dance genres such as Ballet, Contemporary, Street Dance, Jazz Funk and more. Throughout the years, she has performed and competed on several platforms, both national and international. Dance has always been her Passion and she strongly believes that it has helped boost her confidence and ability to express herself. She hopes to be able to inspire and share the joy of dance through her creations.
Ballet - Ivan Koh
5 October, 7pm-8:15pm
Currently an Artist at Singapore Dance Theatre, Ivan joined the company in September 2017. He trained in SOTA and furthered his studies on Full scholarship at the New Zealand School of Dance. While serving National Service, he had the opportunity to work with the Music and Drama Company performing extensively in various genres.

Latin - Lindsey Lum

Lindsey is one of Singapore’s best female amateur Latin dancers. Together with her partner, she emerged as the top Singaporean as well as second best SEA couple at the Blackpool Dance Festival 2017. She has won numerous titles and have travelled and competed in Malaysia, Hong Kong, London etc. Lindsey will be conducting a Latin workshop for us with her current partner and is looking forward to seeing you in her class.

Contemporary Improvisation - Ma Yue Ru

YueRu Ma was born in Singapore and has danced professionally in the United States and Spain with companies such as Marcat Dance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago 2, Post:Ballet and Present-Day Dance Theater. She began her formal dance education at School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), and later graduated summa cum laude from The Boston Conservatory, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance. As an artist, she strives to always be honest, curious, and courageous, and impact this world meaningfully through the powerful language of dance.
Indian Bollywood - Iswarya Jayakumar

A disciple of late SMT Neila Sathyalingam [Founder of Apsaras Arts Premier Performing Arts Company, Singapore], Iswarya Jayakumar has been learning Bharathanatyam since the tender age of three and has performed and competed locally and Internationally. Since graduation from SOTA, she has completed her Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Sciences and have excelled in many prestigious dance competitions overseas (UK Dance Elite Championship 2016, 1st in Battle of Bollywood). She has also been given the opportunity to be featured in a German TV movie entitled ‘Das Gespenst von Cassley’ and ‘Loveratri’ an upcoming Bollywood film produced by Salman Khan. Come join Iswarya’s Indian Bollywood class for a unique experience to expose yourself to a refreshing dance genre.
